Careers advice and guidance
If you are a graduate of the University of St Andrews, you are welcome to use the Careers Centre, its services and information resources after graduation. These include:
- An online guidance facility where you can get advice on your CV or your job applications.
- Careers Centre JobsOnline, giving you access to hundreds of graduate jobs.
- Drop-in sessions for a one-to-one meeting with a Careers Adviser if you are still living in the area.
- A wealth of information on different careers sectors
- Information on making applications, succeeding at interview, postgraduate study and more.
- Videos to view to help you prepare for interviews and assessment centres, develop your networking skills and provide information on specific careers.
Please note that we are unlikely to be able to help those who are seeking to directly builld on significant career experience, eg of five years or more.

You can still receive individual one to one advice from our professional staff through:
- On-line advice
- in person, at our drop-in afternoons (2.00pm - 4.00pm except Wednesday)

The Careers Alumni Network enables St Andrews graduates to make contact with other alumni and friends of the University who are willing to talk to them about their work.
Although our website has been designed mainly for a student audience it can still help you with your career planning:
- I dont know what I want to do – has tests and questionnaires which can help you find out about jobs which may interest you
- Careers A-Z – these sector overviews provide detailed information on popular careers for graduates, including comprehensive list of links to relevant websites such as job listings.
- International Jobs – gives you links to international career information including job sites.
- Making applications – although targeted to students this can still provide useful information to graduates
- Videos - we have a good selection of videos to help with applications, interviews, assessment centres etc
- Postgraduate study - for those considering further education
