Supervising PG Research Students: An Introduction
Date: Tuesday 15th January 2013
Time: 12:30-16:00 (Registration at 12:30)
Venue: Arts Lecture Theatre (Arts Building)
This session is open to new supervisors of postgraduate research students, and all supervisors who would like a refresher. Jointly organised by the Provost’s Office and CAPOD, this session will include updates from the Pro Deans and the Chair of the UTREC committee, and will provide key information about important changes in national and University policies, procedures and practices relevant to the supervision of PhD students.
Participants will have an opportunity to take part in smaller break-out group discussions. This will be led by experienced supervisors, and is an excellent opportunity to explore concerns and share supervision experiences.
Please note: Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available at the refreshment break; however lunch is NOT provided at this event.
