About CAPOD

CAPOD, the University’s Centre for Academic, Professional and Organisational Development was formed in May 2011 by amalgamating the services previously offered by SALTIRE, Staff Development and GRADskills.  Its aims are to promote an integrated personal, professional and academic development service to all staff and students; and to contribute to organisational effectiveness by promoting engagement with institutional values and priorities.

Further initiatives are developed as needs are identified, informed by University strategies and external influences, e.g. QAA, SFC, the Researcher Development Framework and the Scottish HE sector’s enhancement agenda.  Delivery is by a combination of in-house and invited expertise.
