Wednesday 24th April 4.15 pm, Old Union Diner (entrance on Butts Wynd)

This lecture explores how far the success of Pictorialist photography of turn-ofthe- century sculpture was predicated on shared aesthetic and ideological concerns, in particular that of emphasizing the presence of the touch of the artist on the surface of the finished product, even when the work – sculpture or photographic print – was mechanically re/produced.

All welcome. Refreshments will be served afterwards. For more information please contact Dr Luke Gartlan (lg321@standrews.ac.uk)
