Since its foundation in 1998, Arché has been the beneficiary of over £4 million in external awards and sponsorship.
The scale and quality of Arché's research activity would not be possible without the very substantial level of support provided by our sponsors.
We most gratefully acknowledge the contributions of all those listed below.

The University of St Andrews
|
|
|
The University of St Andrews remains Arché's single most significant sponsor.
The Centre functions as a unit within the School of Philosophical and Anthropological Studies,
which provides its staff, students and fellows with all the normal infrastructural and academic support enjoyed by members of the School.
The Centre's dedicated accommodation in College and North Streets, now comprising some 18 office spaces for graduate students,
7 for postdoctoral and visiting fellows, and the offices of the secretary and executive director, together with all running costs,
is provided by the University.
The costs of full-time secretarial staffing for the Centre are met by the School, and the posts of the Director,
Executive Director and the Arché Professors are funded by the University.
The stipends of the Professorial Fellows are divided between the Centre and the University.

The Arts and Humanities Research Council
|
|
|
Between January 1st 2003 and December 31st 2007 Arché was an AHRC Research Centre, and the associated five-year AHRC Research Centre Grant provided the
single largest component in the Centre's funding.
The Centre has also been the beneficiary of three five-year AHRC Research Project Grants for the projects on
The Logical and Metaphysical Foundations of Classical Mathematics, Basic Knowledge and
Contextualism and Relativism.
These grants have provided for the majority of the postdoctoral fellowships and graduate studentships tenable in the Centre.

The Leverhulme Trust
|
|
|
The Trust has contributed three very significant awards.
The resourcing made available to St Andrews by Crispin Wright's Leverhulme Research Professorship provided support for the original foundation of Arché.
The Centre was also the beneficiary of a Leverhulme International Networks Award which supported the workshops
programmes in connection with the research projects on The Metaphysics and Epistemology of Modality and
Vagueness: Its Nature and Logic.
For further details please see our Networks page.
Most recently, the Trust has awarded the Centre a two-year Research Grant for the Grundgesetze translation project.

The British Academy
|
|
|
Arché's programme of workshops in connection with its research project on The Logical and
Metaphysical Foundations of Classical Mathematics was supported by the British Academy's International Network Scheme.
See our Networks page for more information.

Arché’s major research grants include no provision for its successful international conferences, and additional research gatherings outwith the
remit of the major research projects, which have been made possible only by occasion–specific funding generously provided by:
