Welcome
The last twelve months have been a momentous period for the Development Office with the preparation and February launch of the 600th Anniversary Campaign. The Anniversary offers an opportunity not only to take stock of the achievements of our illustrious institution over its long and distinguished history at the heart of advanced education in Scotland, but to determine the strategic imperatives that will place St Andrews at the forefront of global academic discovery and learning for the century to come.
Momentum has been building for some time, not only with the completion of major capital projects such as the new Medical and Biological Sciences Building, but through the confirmation of exciting and varied Campaign projects, enhanced alumni engagement, bespoke fundraising opportunities and the establishment of a Development operation commensurate with the challenges ahead.
Most of all, however, is the recognition that, while St Andrews has attained its status as a centre of excellence through the twin virtues of endeavour and imagination, considerable new investment will be required to respond to the changing funding landscape we now encounter, and to ensure that the University defines its role in the further pursuit of knowledge with confidence and purpose.
