Welcome
Welcome to our webpages for alumni and donors where you can find details of St Andrews news, events, alumni benefits and ways in which you can help support the University. Between now and the end of 2013 we are celebrating our 600th Anniversary, marking us out as the third oldest university in the English-speaking world. We are arranging a number of special events as well as running a major fundraising campaign, launched in 2011 by HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, our campaign Patron.
Our campaign will deliver benefits across the University, allowing new approaches to teaching, opportunities for innovative research, and exciting new facilities for our student body. Fundraising is well underway and we have already raised over £30M towards our ambitious campaign total. With these funds we have created a state-of-the-art Medical and Biological Sciences Building and are investing in teaching excellence, attracting outstanding academics from around the world, and providing scholarships so that the most able young people can enjoy the benefits of a St Andrews education, irrespective of their background or circumstances. Plans are now progressing for a series of further major developments which will transform the intellectual and cultural landscape of the University, including a new Centre for Earth, Life and the Oceans, refurbished and updated sports facilities and a new Centre for Special Collections, worthy of the unique and ancient treasures that denote the rich heritage of Scotland’s oldest seat of higher learning.
To make this vision a reality we are dependent on the enduring loyalty, commitment and generosity of our alumni, friends and supporters. The 600th Anniversary Campaign is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to determine the long-term future of this great University and we hope you, our alumni, will join us at this most exciting time in our long and illustrious history.
