Ever to Excel

Ever to Excel is an enthralling cinematic account of the foundation and development of the University of St Andrews. It celebrates learning, discoveries, old traditions and new beginnings, interwoven with stories charting the exciting progress of St Andrews over its 600-year history.
Starring the incomparable Sir Sean Connery and directed by the award winning film maker Murray Grigor OBE, Ever to Excel includes appearances by Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond, novelist Fay Weldon, poet Jay Parini, psychiatrist Kay Redfield Jamison, the writer Alastair Reid, the Executive Director at The Foundation for Tomorrow Meghann Gunderman, and businessman Olivier Sarkozy.
The film has been accepted into the prestigious Glasgow Film Festival on Saturday 16 February at 3.00pm. For more information please visit here. Tickets go on sale on 17 January.
It will then be shown in two capital cities – in Edinburgh at the stunning National Museum of Scotland on Thursday 21 February, and in London at BAFTA, the home of British film, on Thursday 28 February. Ticket includes entry to a cocktail reception before the film, in both Edinburgh and London.
Proceeds from the ticket sales for the Edinburgh screening will go into the 600th Anniversary Scholarship Fund and those from the London screening to The London Scholarship fund. Tickets can be purchased online via the links below.
