Making an Application
If applying solely to the University of St Andrews
North American applicants who are not applying to any other UK university and who would be liable to pay tuition fees at the higher Overseas rate may apply directly to the University of St Andrews.
If applying to more than one UK university
All North American applicants who either intend to apply to other UK universities as well as St Andrews or who are eligible to pay fees at the Home (UK/EU) rate must apply online through UCAS.
Verification of your High School qualifications
Whether you apply directly to the University or through UCAS you will need to supply us with official copies of your qualifications in support of your application. These may be sent in the post or by fax or email to International Undergraduate Admissions. All qualifications should be sent as soon as possible after making an application.
Examples of standard qualifications include :
- High School transcripts for grades 10-12 showing subjects taken and grades achieved.
- International Baccalaureate Diploma for grades 10-12 showing subjects and level taken and grades achieved.
- SAT and AP Tests administered by the College Board. You can ask for your test scores to be sent directly to us or your High School may forward them on. Our institution code is 0861.
- ACT Tests administered by ACT. We do not have a registration code, and so you cannot request ACT to send these scores directly to us. However, you can send copies of your test profile to us or arrange for your college counsellor to do so. Our Institution code is 5316.
