University of St Andrews Entrant Bursaries (Northern Ireland)
The University of St Andrews Entrant Bursary is for students domiciled for fee purposes in Northern Ireland. The Bursary is designed to help those who wish to move away from home to attend the University of St Andrews. Students who have a household income of £42,600 or less will be eligible.
The Bursary tops up existing loans and grants available from the Government on a sliding scale to a total combined value of £7,500 per annum. This figure meets the cost of accommodation and subsistence which is the difference between living at home and moving to St Andrews to study.
Example 1: You have calculated that the government will award you through loans and maintenance grants £4792
- £7,500 - £4792 = £2708. Your St Andrews Bursary will be £2708
Example 2: You have calculated that the government will award you through loans and special support grants £6055
- £7,500 - £6055 = £1445. Your St Andrews Bursary will be £1445
