Scholarships
Through the generosity of donors, its development programme and commercial activities, the University of St Andrews is able to offer a range of scholarships to undergraduates.
Eliahou Dangoor
The Eliahou Dangoor Scholarships have been created to provide talented students with the opportunity to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects at leading universities in the United Kingdom. University of St Andrews is please to advise it has been included in this program; eligible applicants will be selected by the Scholarship Committee.
The Wardlaw Scholarship Scheme
These Wardlaw scholarships are available to students who would otherwise have difficulty in financing their university studies.
Some awards are available only to students domiciled in Scotland, others are open to any EU citizen, and some have no geographical restrictions.
A number of scholarships will be available ranging in value from £1,000 in the year of entry to £3,000 per annum in each subsequent year of the undergraduate course.
Subject-based entrant scholarships
Subject-based entrant scholarships are available. Academic Schools offer a £1000 Entrant Scholarships to outstanding applicants on the basis of financial need:
- Mathematics & Statistics
- Modern Languages
- Philosophy, Philosophical and Anthropological Studies and Film Studies
- Physics & Astronomy
- Chemistry (The Purdie Scholarship)
- Computer Science

How and when to apply:
Applicants should complete the Online-Scholarship form. Please read the completion notes carefully as incorrect or incomplete applications will not be considered.
You can apply for a scholarship any time after you have applied to the University and have received your UCAS application number.
Some of these awards are for applicants who are eligible to pay fees at the Home rate which in addition to EU citizenship normally requires at least three years residency in the European Union or European Economic Area (EEA) immediately prior to the course start date.
Applications for must be submitted in full no later than the 31st March of the year of entry.
