Students' Association
As a postgraduate student, you will automatically become a member of the Students' Association (www.yourunion.net) (or The Union) which is located at St Mary's Place in the centre of town. The Association aims to provide its members with professional services at student prices. These services include a wide variety of entertainments, several bars, two cafes, a bookshop, a stationery shop & university merchandise store, a pool room and the cheapest printing & photocopying in town.
The Association also runs the Union Café on North Street, which is ideally situated for the library and postgrad accommodation.
The Union also funds a wide variety of societies and student activities, encouraging students to organise their own clubs, theatre productions and bands. Students can involve themselves in the Union at all levels, from volunteering with events and charities to standing for one of the elected representational positions. The Union building also houses the University's Student Services, which can offer help on almost every student issue.
