Summer Schools for North American applicants
Programmes for High School Students
Each year the University offers two Summer Programmes specifically designed for students who have successfully completed tenth grade in a North American High School.
Scottish Studies Summer Programme
The Scottish Studies Summer Programme provides a pre-college experience for students based around a central theme of Scottish Studies.
Creative Writing Summer Programme
The Creative Writing Summer Programme is modelled on the highly successful Scottish Studies Summer Programme. The course is designed as a series of master classes and workshops with leading Scottish writers, allowing students to develop their skills in authoring, oral presentation, editing and analysis.
Programme for College and University Students
The International Summer Programme is an academic programme primarily for university students who are about to enter, or who have completed, their sophomore year. Students choose two out of three modules: British Literature: Shakespeare to Scottish Crime Fiction; Scotland in Europe and G reat Books: European Literature in Translation.
