How to Book Your Visit

Choose a date

Check our published Visiting Days to select a date that best suits you. Please remember that we need at least two weeks' notice to arrange your visit.

Complete the online booking form

The link to the online booking form is on the right hand side of this page.

Send your completed form

If you have problems completing the online booking form you may send the pdf version form to us by post, fax or as an email attachment.  Our contact details are given above.

You can still book a place if it is less than two weeks to your preferred Visiting Day, but please contact us first on +44 (0)1334 463324 or by fax on +44 (0)1334 463330.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or alter your booking for any reason, please contact us immediately on +44 (0)1334 463324 or email Student Recruitment. This will allow us to allocate your place to another prospective student.

Limited Numbers

Owing to the antiquity and size of some of the buildings at the University, we have to take Fire and Safety regulations into consideration when administering Visiting Days. With this in mind, if bookings for Visiting Days exceed a certain level the University reserves the right to offer you the alternative date stated on your booking form. If no alternative date has been entered, then we will automatically book you onto the next available Visiting Day and notify you of the date.

Disability/Special Needs

If you have a disability, or a special need please indicate this on the online booking form in the "Other Information" free text section.  While you are at the University on a Visiting Day you can arrange to meet a Disability Adviser in our Student Support Services

Guests

In order to provide a safe and comfortable Visiting Day experience, prospective students can be accompanied by up to two guests.

If one of these guests is also a potential student, they should complete their own booking.  On our busier Visiting Days, guests and parents will unfortunately be unable to visit academic departments at 2.15 pm and 3.15 pm as many the venues are only able to host limited numbers of visitors during semester-time. Visiting Days are organised primarily for prospective students, applicants and entrants and so they will be given priority for appointments in teaching departments.  We appreciate your understanding in this as we endeavour to provide our applicants with the best possible visitor experience.

During these afternoon sessions, parents have the opportunity to visit the recently opened University of St Andrews Museum with its magnificent interactive displays.

Luggage

For security reasons and for your personal safety, under no circumstances can personal luggage be left in a University building -- other than the University residence, should you be staying there -- or with a member of staff for safekeeping during a Visiting Day.

Travel arrangements and map

It is advisable that you do not make any travel arrangements to visit the University until we have confirmed your place on a Visiting Day.

The University cannot be held responsible for travel arrangements that have been made prior to receipt of official acknowledgment of your place on a Visiting Day.
