5 Model (Research) Agreements
Following the 2003 UK Treasury-sponsored Lambert Review the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) published 5 Model (research) Agreements on 24 February 2005.
The 5 Model Agreements are indicative starting points for negotiations between industry and universities. Their use is not compulsory but they may reduce the time and money spent by both parties negotiating deals. The DTI website also provides Guidance Notes linked to the agreements and a Decision Guide which helps choose the most appropriate of the 5 Model Agreements for a specific research collaboration.
