Private property letting

For and students and staff StudentPad is a useful point of departure for finding private accomodation in St Andrews. Additionally, the University of St Andrews Students' Association provides an informative guide on how to rent in St Andrews.

The University also offers some private accommodation through a Direct Lease Scheme. More information is available at Managed Properties. 

Depending on availability, short term lets in Studio apartments may be available at David Russell Apartments Tel: 01334 467100.  Accommodation is limited and we strongly advise all staff to make arrangements, as far in advance as possible and if coming for a short stay, avoiding the start of the academic session will significantly increase the options available.

Private estate agents

There are several estate agents in St Andrews who let their properties out to students. Many of the estate agents release a 'list' of all the available student properties for the upcoming year in late January/early February.

All the agents who have signed the Landlord Tenant Charter (a code of conduct between landlords and their tenants) with the University of St Andrews Students' Association are listed below. Please contact the estate agents directly for further information and availability.
