Student catering menu

Each of our halls of residences has a unique dining room providing an ideal setting for you to eat great food, meet new people and socialise, without any expensive trips to the supermarket and time spent preparing meals and having to wash up. Each unit has a dedicated catering team who are only too happy to serve you. You will also have access to a small kitchen to prepare light meals. All halls operate a four-week menu cycle which is reviewed and amended on a regular basis so may be subject to occasional changes. Please note that meals are not transferrable between halls. The menus linked at the bottom of this page are representative of the food typically served within our residences during the academic year 2021-2022.

We offer a wide range of menu items including vegetarian and plant-based diet options and healthy alternatives endorsed by the Healthy Living Award. This means we offer dishes at every mealtime which are prepared with low levels of salt, sugar and saturated fats. Nutritional and allergen information for all of our dishes is available on request. If you have any particular dietary requirements, we will endeavour to fulfi

l your needs. We do ask at the point of application, that you complete the special diets section so we can determine where best to accommodate you. Unfortunately, we cannot cater for halal or kosher diets and may not be able to cater for some food allergies depending on the level of severity. If you require a specialist diet, we recommend opting for self-catered accommodation. If you have any dietary requirements whilst living in halls, please contact your hall's Chef Manager to discuss how best to accommodate your needs. Contact details for the Chef Managers in your hall can be found on the hall specific sheets at the back of the Residents Guide 2021-22.

We have a real commitment to ethically sourced, quality products using Fairtrade tea, coffee, hot chocolate and sugar and using free-range eggs sourced locally, as well as using sustainable produce and seasonal foods, wherever possible.

You can also contact the hall Chef Manager to order a packed lunch. These are helpful if you can't make it back to your hall in time for lunch. They can be ordered the day before you require it and picked up at breakfast and contain a sandwich/baguette, healthy popcorn, piece of fruit, healthy snack bar and water/juice. Alternatively, you may wish to use the 'Grab & Go' option available in your hall. No need to stay in the dining room, the separate 'Grab & Go' food stations allow you to grab a baguette, choose your fillings along with a drink and crisps then head back out for your afternoon classes!
