Appointment of Non-Executive Members to the University Court

The University of St Andrews, with circa 7000 students and a turnover of £130 million, is proud not only of its history as Scotland's first university and the third oldest university in the English-speaking world, but also of its current international reputation for research and teaching excellence.

The University Court, which is the governing body of the University, is currently seeking expressions of interest from individuals who would be willing to join the Court as non-executive members. This is an opportunity to contribute to the success of the University by helping to shape its strategic vision and the means by which it attains its objectives. The University Court would particularly welcome interest from individuals familiar with the demands of Board-level governance in commercial, public sector or not-for profit environments.

Members of the University Court must be able to attend five Court meetings annually and participate in additional Court committees, as well as play a visible role in key events in the University calendar. Although Court members are not remunerated, there are many rewards to be gained from adding value to one of Scotland's most respected institutions.

To express interest, please complete the form below and submit it with appropriate supporting information to Professor Ron Piper, Vice-Principal (Governance & Planning), University of St Andrews, College Gate, North Street, St Andrews KY16 9AJ.
