New Fife Park

Artist's impression of Fife Park redevelopment

Following discussion and consultation with students and neighbours in 2007 and 2008, the University applied to Fife Council in June 2008 for planning permission to demolish and replace Fife Park with modern fit-for-purpose accommodation.

Details of our planning application for New Fife Park may be viewed at www.fife.gov.uk

New Fife Park will represent an investment of over £40 million and will be wholly funded, managed and owned by the University and will provide accommodation for 772 students.

Fife Park redevelopment plans

As part of the New Fife Park development the University will first build an additional 500 bed spaces close to nearby David Russell Apartments to cater for increased demand for this type of accommodation and to compensate for the loss of capacity when Fife Park houses are demolished.

Subject to planning permission being granted by Fife Council, construction work will commence in mid 2009. Fife Park will be demolished during the summer of 2010 with the aim of completing New Fife Park in 2011.

Every effort will me made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum during demolition and construction phases and regular updates will be provided through this website. Contractors will also be alerted to periods of particular sensitivity to residents during the academic year.
