600th anniversary publications

As we celebrate our 600th anniversary we add to our wealth of literature three new books examining the history of the University, the town and some of its treasures.

Book covers

Fifty of the finest artefacts owned by the University of St Andrews are featured in a major new publication launched to coincide with our 600th anniversary celebrations.

The book, ‘Treasures of St Andrews University Library’ highlights the outstanding archive of the library, which includes some 750,000 photographs taken from the days of early photography to the present.

It features some of the collection’s most important and intriguing items including rare books, illuminated manuscripts, photographs and maps, as well as a living archive of the University itself.

The book can be purchased online.

2011 sees the launch of three new publications exploring the history of the University and of St Andrews:
