It is a University regulation that your thesis be typed or word processed. Although there is no requirement to use any particular software, the University has networked MS Word. For other packages please contact IT Services help line (e-mail helpdesk@st-andrews.ac.uk). The computing facilities available to postgraduates are the same as for undergraduates, but there are PCs specifically available to postgraduates within the School. The latest list of these facilities may be obtained from the helpdesk in the computing Laboratory. Facilities are regularly upgraded.
All matriculated students at St Andrews have access to the University's computing network, including a free e-mail service. The account may be activated by calling at the IT Services helpdesk, located within the University Library. It is essential to read your e-mail regularly as most information is now circulated electronically.

Most of these classrooms are open during normal working hours. You may obtain an entry card which will provide 24 hour access to all of these rooms on application to IT Services (a deposit is payable).
